Ibronze: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your fit-age.
My name is LeVesta and I’m in that particular age group of so many gorgeous fit women.
Let’s just say I’ve had my AARP card for many, many years…LOL. I have always been very active and athletic, even as a child growing up in Orange, NJ, so my journey of physical fitness has been a long time.
I retired three years ago from working at a breast cancer program; however, I have continued my rewarding experience as the co-facilitator at Living and Loving Life Breast Cancer Support Circle.
I laugh when people ask, “What are you going to do?” or tell me, “You’re going to get bored.” Truth be told, I’m busier now than when I was working a 9-5 job.
ibronze: As a Fit-Mom, who are the important beneficiaries of your exercising?
I have a great son, Jay, and a lovely daughter-in-law, Debbie, and two wonderful grandchildren…well young adults: Alex will be 22 soon and has decided to take a gap year from Dartmouth College and Zoe turned 19 last month. She attends Middlebury College.
ibronze: Can you share your daily fitness routine with us?
My fitness regiment is more intense now because I have like-minded people to encourage and push me beyond my comfort zone.
- I walk 5-6 days a week; and, if the weather doesn’t permit I go to an indoor mall.
- I enjoy walking with others, but walking solo is fine too, which I do often. I just put on music and go for it. Waiting for someone to decide if and when they want to walk is a no, no for me. I just give them love and keep moving.
- I have added hula-hooping and yoga to my exercise routine too.
- I alternate days with weights and planks, crunches, and pushups.
- Soon, I’ll get back to working with my trainer Chauncey Whitehead The Trainer to take it to another level.
- I am transitioning to a vegan/plant-based way of eating with the encouragement of Shay Brown-Brown, The Motivator. Adding more meditation daily to ease my mind and body of stress…it can sneak up on you and you don’t want that.
I love the way my body feels and looks. So, I will continue to treat it with love inside and outside.
