Force Majeure
Master Sgt. (Retired) Lachrisha Lavette Parker served 28 years in the United States Army and retired with distinguished service awards in September 2018. Following her retirement, she leveraged her concerns for women in the military by utilizing her honored position as one of the ten finalist in the 2019 Ms. Veteran America competition. Additionally, Parker is one of 12 elite appointees to advise the Department of Veteran Affairs. As a graduate of Excelsior College, Parker’s career was committed to equity for all. She served as the Equal Opportunity Leader, Victim Advocacy Leader, and Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program NCO.
Parker’s experience with victims is what leads her to share her choices of daily inspiration. They are entitled Force Majeure–this is a French term for greater forces “unknown” in our lives as there is One Force that can light our paths and guide our way out of our unknown journeys.
